ABOUT Maggi
A few years ago, I came up with the idea of combining my passion for food and photography. Although I am an amateur in both fields, I have been cooking delicious food for family and friends since college and have taken thousands of pictures throughout my lifetime.
I'm a mom with two grown children, Peyton (27) and Bryce (24). During their upbringing, I took responsibility for cooking for our family. While their diets were selective and primarily consisted of the same foods, I tried all sorts of recipes hoping to instill good habits and variety in their lives through food. Additionally, I loved hosting and attending gatherings which allowed me space to prepare and serve delicious food to my friends and family.
In 1990, I participated in an icebreaker exercise during my sorority (Kappa Alpha Theta). We were asked to share one unique thing about ourselves, and I mentioned that I enjoy taking pictures. Thirty-plus years later, this still holds. The process of taking photos, developing film, and waiting for the results has always felt mysterious and exciting to me.
I have been working at Wilmington Media + Marketing, a local publishing company that produces business and lifestyle content and events for Southeastern North Carolina, for the past 15 years. During my tenure, I have been able to invest in our community and help clients reach their full potential. My recent roles have included sales and leadership development, which has made for a fulfilling career while working for an exceptional company.

"As I begin a new chapter at the age of 51, I am excited to continue learning and exploring what life has to offer. By merging my love for food and pictures, I hope to experience new journeys, face fears, express truths, and commemorate this lively and diverse life.
Education:
I graduated from The Ohio State University on March 17, 1995, which also happened to be St. Patrick's Day. At that time, the school was on the quarter system, which meant that I had to stay for two extra quarters. Interestingly, those quarters coincided with the Ohio State football season for the fifth year. Whether it was a coincidence or not, I will leave that for you to decide.

IIn 2001, we moved to Colorado Springs with my two kids. I enrolled in the Interior Design program at Pikes Peak Community College while my eldest child attended kindergarten. The college provided daycare for my younger child, and my friends helped with him during my evening classes. Sadly, due to an unexpected move, I couldn't finish the degree, and I regret it to this day..

I've recently enrolled in our local community college and am taking a digital photography class this winter. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Check back soon!

Cheers,
Maggi
